Emergency lighting should operate automatically when mains power supply fails.

In the event of a fire, safe and efficient evacuation is paramount. Total Fire & Electrical Solutions provide emergency lighting systems that are fully compliant with BS 5266, ensuring that the emergency exits and escape routes are fully illuminated in the event of an emergency thus enabling safe evacuation from the premises.

Keeping your business, staff & customers safe is a high priority, so in an emergency we will make sure that you have an emergency lighting system that will not fail.

Emergency Light Testing

EMERGENCY LIGHTING SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE

All emergency lighting systems should be tested monthly, by switching of the supply to the lighting circuit to ensure that all lights function. This is usually performed by the customer. In addition to this the emergency lighting system should be professionally tested and inspected by a competent person. Our engineers are all sufficiently trained and experienced to ensure all of your systems are serviced to the latest BS 5266 standards.

Generally speaking, for most systems, an Emergency Light Test will include:

  • Testing all emergency lights for operation and illumination
  • Inspecting the condition of the system and checking the battery drain
  • Recording the test date
  • Reporting on system deficiencies, outlining actions and providing a quote
  • Training selected employees on how to conduct monthly inspections
  • Issuing an Emergency Light Certificate
